Please register if interested: Evinco Therapeutics is a Melbourne-based biotechnology company developing a first-in-class, immune-derived nasal spray therapy to treat Alzheimer’s disease and related neurological conditions. The novel therapeutic modality uses Natural Killer (NK) cell-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) that are purified, enhanced, and freeze-dried to non-invasively modulate neuro-inflammation and potentially overcome key limitations of current costly, limited-efficacy treatments. Evinco’s platform is being developed to deliver a low-cost, non-invasive therapy, targeting a multi-billion-dollar global market. More than 19,000 Australians died from dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease in 2025, and it remains the nation's leading cause of death. Led by stem cell pioneer Prof. Alan Trounson AO, the company is seeking an initial AUD $2.6 million initial investment for establishing the proof of concept in 2026–2027. The company aims to achieve clinical readiness within approximately 18 months and expects a further AU$4 million will enable clinical trials. Evinco’s commercial potential is backed by a strategic collaboration with a global pharmaceutical partner, active interest from a leading US venture capital group to form a funding consortium post-proof-of-concept, and local Australian neurologists ready to accelerate human trials. Preclinical evaluation using a large animal model for Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS) will assess efficacy and safety, positioning successful early clinical validation as a strong catalyst for rapid growth or strategic acquisition.
